Why do ladies display pictures will filters in the matchmaking site 4

I think it is not right to display all pictures with filters or heavy makeup cuz u end up not displaying ur true self. A guy may become attracted to ur filtered or makeup version and when he sees the real u, he becomes discouraged. Some filters even turn a dark person fair. And some makeup cover up facial rashes or dark spots. Though few men also use pictures with filter but it's more common with ladies. I think it's better to display a picture that shows ur real self.. Light makeup is acceptable but heavy makeup that changes ur real appearance.. Kai

I personally make sure every first face to face interaction I’m having with a guy I’m interested in is as natural as possible. I don’t wear any makeup on my face nor do I use any filter on my pictures. It’s not nice to lead people on so I don’t do what I wouldn’t want to be done unto me. If you see a girl doing that, it might most likely be because she has inferiority complex or she has self esteem issues. I for one like to embrace every part of me because I’m beautiful just the way I am.

Making up or adornment is part of the female nature. Allaah (SW) says about the female in suratul Zukhruf أَوَمَن يُنَشَّؤُاْ فِي ٱلۡحِلۡيَةِ وَهُوَ فِي ٱلۡخِصَامِ غَيۡرُ مُبِينٖ (Muhsin Khan and Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali) (Do they then like for Allah) a creature who is brought up in adornments (wearing silk and gold ornaments, i.e. women), and in dispute cannot make herself clear? -Sura Az-Zukhruf, Ayah 18 I would advise our sisters to probably upload pictures of different level of makeup if they have to upload pics of themselves on matchmaking sites so as not to seem to deceive the brother who's looking for a wife. And Allaah knows best.

Everybody knows that.. but for a matchmaking site.. a person supposed to be as natural as possible.. you don't need makeup or filter to look good

There is also an aya in suratun nur that Allah said ''And enjoin believing women to cast down their looks and guard their private parts and not reveal their adornment except that which is revealed of itself, and to draw their veils over their bosoms, and not to reveal their adornment except to their husbands, or their fathers, or the fathers of their husbands, or of their own sons, or the sons of their husbands, or their brothers, or the sons of their brothers...'' Quran 24:31. Based on the above verse a lady should only reveal her adornment to her muharrim except what is revealed like her face and hand that is what is required of a non muharrim to see which may attract a potential suitor, so this makes uploading a profile picture with little makeup and not revealing sensitive parts of the body acceptable and encouraged on match making platforms and one picture is more appropriate until a lady meet someone she is interested in then she can can decide to send him more of her pictures when he requested or better meet in person for proper decision making.
