Its not just women people generally in this era are materialistic, even you as a man is chasing the material world, but society will be quick to see the fault if a women expresses her own materialism. You want to have money, buy your flashy wants and afford what you want, is a natural human trait. Its only a problem if all that a person looks after is a the material world, if you are a woman wouldn't you want to marry a rich person and live comfortably?
