because men are logical in thinking for example, a man will hardly go for a woman's wealth before marrying her. whether she is poor or not, all a man want is a woman that will look after him, guide him, pray for him, take care of his family and properties. but for women, it's mostly the opposite all they want is riches upon riches which is why most women have nothing to offer in marriage...

I think its more about how both genders are psychologically wired. Women are more likely to seek successful men because of their place in society, Men are the providers not women. that is the Norm. so men don't naturally feel inclined to go after wealth because of that instinct. Men have Testosterone and women have Estrogen each of these hormones influences behavior and wants.

I believe it's because it's a patriarchal world. If we were to be in a matriarchal setting I believe the opposite could apply. Generally speaking, it's men who seek and marry women and therefore women are the subject of choice by men and not the other way around. So over time, society is accustomed to this and accepts it to be normal. But this does not in any way mean women do not have their own preferences and choices about the men they want; women's choice for men is not direct in most cases but comes in form of rejection when the man who chooses her does not fit her preferences. That is why you see more women rejecting suitors than men do because their power for selecting partners lies not in their selection of men directly but on deciding who they accept.
