I have been observing for a while that Hausa people in the North see themselves as better than other tribes. eg
1. You rarely find a Hausa man learning/speaking another tribe apart from his own.
2. A Muslim Yoruba friend of mine told me when he went to serve in yobe state only hausas lead prayer in the mosque.
3. they think it's their land and threatening to send other tribes out of their region in of religious crises.
but the truth is that the hausa region is the face of poverty and illitracy in Nigeria, can that be the reason some think this way?
its not all hausas that are like that, mostly the uneducated ones. because of majority live poverty and illiteracy, they represent the tribe.
also learning a tribe is a choice doesn't mean u are feeling superior
The reason hausas don't learn other tribes language it's because they view it as inferior to their own if not why are some learning english it's not just a random choice
It's simply because most of their families and friends don't speak the language so why bother...you learn a language because of communication and if you have that already then it's not useful
And if you compare north and other regions you out that hausa in the north dont do that to other tribes but when you go to east you will see a major difference
